Story of sensing solutions
Over the past few decades photo-electric sensors have evolved from being simple devices for sensing the presence of an object, to highly sophisticated devices using laser sources and capable of not only sensing distance to a detected object with remarkable accuracy, but also communicating onto a high speed network. Sensor development continues and is driven by a commitment to research and development by leading sensor manufacturers.
- Light sources have been used as part of sensors for decades.
- Incandescent sources were soon replaced by infrared sources.
- Laser sources are now the source of choice.
