Assemble cables within a power chain system

The choice of a power chain system (or cable track system) must be made in accordance with the needs of the required cables. It is recommended not to make use of cables with multi-layer construction if possible, eg > 25 cores, but to assign the necessary cores to a higher number of cables. The minimum permissible bending radii of the cables must be strictly adhered to. The life of a power chain system depends on how the cables are assembled within the system… this cable expert offers some advice.

Take note

  • The life of a power chain system depends on how the cables are assembled and protected.
  • Cables in a flexible power chain must be able to move freely.
  • Abrasion, rubbing and bruising of cables should be avoided.
